Part-Time Governor Perry

On June 7, 2010 Texans learned for the first time that Rick Perry worked an average of seven hours a week between January and May of 2010 and enjoyed 16 long weekends. This gave him plenty of time to hang around his rental mansion, enjoy his heated pool, and read his $70-per-year Food & Wine magazine subscription– all on the dime of Texas taxpayers. When he did work, press conferences, photo ops, luncheons and conferences accounted for 61% of his “work” time. Part-time Perry collected a salary of $428.57 per hour during this time. The more Texans learn about Rick Perry’s schedules, the more it becomes clear we have a part-time governor who’s only in it for himself.
